About Us

So, what exactly is “The Glynn?” In short - it’s our family home. A few acres of Texas land that used to be a peanut farm, but for the last several decades has simply been a home and haven for a number of different people.

When we moved here in 2011, the wide open spaces, although neglected, were a breath of fresh air to our weary family. For 10 years, we worked evenings and weekends to bring it back to life using organic but frugal methods, and plain old hard work. Through several serious illnesses and the loss of our husband and father, our community has also played an irreplaceable role in revitalizing this property.

Now, four generations of family and a steady stream of beloved neighbors and friends frequent The Glynn. We’re excited for this chapter of learning how to steward the land in new ways…we’ve begun revitalizing the old orchard in earnest, we’ve planted a blackberry patch, and most of all, we are enjoying an abundance of gorgeous blooms from our cut flower garden.

Cara and long-time friend, Megan, are the masterminds and muscle behind most of what goes on here. Their daughters and mothers help as much as they are able, alongside Mike, Megan’s husband. Cara’s son-in-law and grandson join frequently, as well (although the grand baby isn’t a ton of help). We love the wonderful community of Glen Rose, TX, and are so grateful for the partnerships and friendships that make these beautiful flowers possible!
